Men's Basketball Falls at Home to Blue Devils
(Lansing, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's basketball team was in action for the final time before the Thanksgiving holiday, but dropped their WHAC matchup to the visiting Lawrence Tech Blue Devils Tuesday evening.
LTU scored the game's first five points, before Bennie Crenshaw Jr. and Jaylen Cole-Williams hit a free throw and a three pointer to make the score 5-4 in the early action. An Amare Slaughter jumper would make the score 9-6, and then the Blue Devils went on a 29-8 run over ten minutes to take control of the game. Cleary's offense started to put some points on the board late, but the Blue Devil offense stayed hot, and Cleary went into the half trailing 48-24.
Jaylen Cole-Williams would knock down another three to start the second half, but the Blue Devils offense was firing on all cylinders, and the visitors went on to win 97-66.
Jaylen Cole-Williams led CU with 16 points, while Bennie Crenshaw Jr. added 11 points.
LTU knocked down 18 threes to Cleary's 6 in the game, while also outrebounding the Cougars 43-29.
