(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougars and the Indiana Tech Warriors faced off in a double-header Saturday afternoon at Lake Trust Stadium, and each team won a game on the day.
In Game 1: Indiana Tech struck first, scoring a pair of runs in the 2nd inning, but Cleary would respond in the bottom of the 2nd and 3rd innings to take a 5-2 lead. Albert Gonzalez scored on a Caleb Buda infield single to start the rally, and in the 3rd, Billy Flohr tripled home Ben Cerven to tie the game. The next batter, Sam Browne, doubled to score pinch runner Braylon Hughes, and a Caleb Buda sacrifice fly scored Browne. The innings' final run was scored when Albert Gonzalez scored his second run on a passed ball. Indiana Tech tied the game in the 6th on a bases loaded double, and Cleary would have to rally to win the game. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th, Zach Agemak thought he hit an infield single to win the game, but was ruled out. In the 8th, Sam Browne hit a sacrifice fly to score Kristian Scalf, giving the Cougars a walk-off win.
Starter Nate Raniszewski threw a no-decision, while Ryan Lieng picked up his 4th win in relief. Cleary had 5 hits, coming from Billy Flohr, Sam Browne, Jesnel Soto, Caleb Buda, and Zach Agemak. Cleary drew 8 walks in the game.

In Game 2: Cleary exploded for seven runs to start the game, taking a 7-0 lead. A Ben Cerven inside the park home run got things going. After a pair of walks, Albert Gonzalez singled to center to score Sam Browne and Braylon Hughes. The next batter, Jesnel Soto, doubled to right to score Browne, and a Caleb Buda double scored Soto and Gonzalez to make the score 5-0. Zach Agemak kept the rally going with a single to left, and Kristian Scalf tripled home Agemak to make it 7-0. Indiana Tech would begin their rally, scoring runs in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings to take an 11-7 lead. Cleary would fight back, when Billy Flohr doubled home Zach Agemak and Kristian Scalf to cut the lead to 11-9, but the rally would fall short, and Cleary couldn't complete the comeback. Because game one went to extra innings, game two automatically became a 7 inning game.
Lucas Withers started the game, but threw a no-decision. Jeremy Fuchs suffered the loss in 0.1 innings thrown. Zach Agemak went 3/3 at the plate with a pair of runs scored and an RBI. Seven other Cougars picked up hits in the game.

The two teams will meet again on Sunday with another double-header at Lake Trust Stadium, with both teams still looking to clinch a berth in the WHAC Tournament. Cleary is currently sitting in 5th place in the WHAC, while Indiana Tech is in 7th, pending results of the league's other games.
