(Southfield, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's basketball team hit the road for their WHAC opener, as they took on the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils in Southfield Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Devils' defense stymied the Cougars, and limited the Cougars to just 25 points in the first half, and 51 for the game, as the Blue Devils went on to win 81-51.
Every player that played for Cleary found the basket, but no Cougar reached double figures. Brockton Kohler was the high scoring Cleary player with 8 points, to go with 6 rebounds. Chris Williams and Ashton Tomassi each added 7 points.
Cleary was held to 17-63 shooting (27%) in the game, and 6-28 from behind the arc (21.4%). LTU outrebounded the Cougars 44-37 in the game, while Cleary committed 17 turnovers to LTU's 16.
Cleary drops to 0-4 overall, 0-1 in the WHAC. The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday, November 21, when they play their home opener against the Indiana Tech Warriors at Gannon Gymnasium on the campus of Lansing Community College. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM ET.
