(Pittsburgh, PA)-- The Cleary Cougar men's basketball team took on the Point Park Pionners in a non-conference basketball game Tuesday afternoon in Pittsburgh.
The game was close early, with the Pionners holding a 21-19 lead, but the hosts would finish the first half on a 23-10 run, and exploded in the second half for 51 points, thanks in part to their shooting behind the arc, to win the game 95-61. Point Park made 6 three pointers in the first half, then hit another 9 in the second half to score 45 of the team's 91 points. Cleary was held to 6-23 shooting from three point range in the game.
Brockton Kohler had his best offensive performance as a Cougar, as he led the team with 18 points, on 7-13 shooting, to go with 6 rebounds. Bennie Crenshaw Jr. was the only other Cougar in double-figures with 10 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. Chris Williams and Tim Kewley each had 8 points.
Cleary falls to 0-11 overall. The Cougars will come back to Michigan for the holiday, and then travel back to Pittsburgh on Saturday, December 30, when they will take on the NCAA D1 Duquesne Dukes in an exhibition matchup. The game can be seen on ESPN+ at 2:00 PM ET.
