Women's Bowling Earns Top-5 Finish at AHBA #5; Men Take 10th
(Temperence, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's bowling teams participated in the AHBA #5 jamboree this past Saturday, and the women claimed their best team performance in program history.
In the Women's Jamboree:
- Samantha Dulz took home a tie for 3rd place, after bowling a 5-game series of 1,035 (207 average) to lead the way for Cleary
- Leigha Rue earned a top-10 finish of her own, after bowling a 983 5-game series to place 10th
- Jamie Crandell placed 29th after bowling an 875 in her 5-game series
- Carman McMahon earned 37th place, as she bowled an 842 5-game series
- Erica Pyden rounded out the Cleary bowlers with a 48th place finish and a 775 5-game series
As a team, Cleary finished in 5th place, their highest team finish at an AHBA event in program history.
In the Men's Jamboree:
- Justin Perdue led the Cougars with a 968 5-game series to finish in 35th place
- Zachary DeLong finished in 41st, after bowling a 946
- Corey Goldsmith was right behind DeLong, and bowled a 938 to finish in 43rd
- Alexander Lewis finished in 101st, after bowling a 714
- Trevor Cockerill only bowled in 3 games, and bowled a 535 to finish in 128th.
As a team, Cleary finished in 10th place.
Both men's and women's bowling teams will be back in action this Saturday, January 28, when they bowl in the AHBA #6 jamboree in Sandusky, Ohio. The action will get underway at 9:00 AM.
