Bowling Represented at 2024 Canada Team Trials
(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary University bowling team will be represented at the 2024 Canadian Team Trials.
Justin de Bont, a senior from Amherstburg, Ontario, and Olivia Solomon, an incoming freshman from Garden River, Ontario, will both be participating in the three day tournament this week.
Both bowlers are competing to earn spots on Team Canada for upcoming international competition. De Bont is competing to earn a spot on the Senior team, while Solomon is eligible to qualify for the Junior team, the Senior team, or both teams, based on her current age and results. The top six males and top six females will qualify for the Senior team. The top four males and top four females will qualify for the Junior team.
Cougar head coach Hayley Dann is extremely excited for both to have this opportunity. "We are extremely proud that we have current and future Cougars taking the sport to the next level, and chasing their dream to represent their country. It is an amazing opportunity and experience; to be able to compete against other elite bowlers. The experience gained from this will be invaluable, and will only help them when they are back on campus. Coach Anthony Dann and I are very excited to follow their progress this week, and wish them nothing but the best."
The Canadian Team Trials are held at the Burlington Bowl in Burlington, Ontario from January 10-12. For more information on the tournament, go to https://tenpincanada.com/home/cdn-team-trials/.
