Bowling Wraps Up Trip Out West With Collegiate Shootout; Women Claim 11th Place
(Las Vegas, NV)-- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's bowling teams were still in Las Vegas on Friday and Saturday, as they bowled in the Collegiate Shootout tournament at Southpointe Casino. Like the Glenn Carlson Tournament, it featured a combined 93 teams participating in the tournament.
In the Men's Tournament:
- Howie Hammond led the way, with five games of 245-236-180-170-193 to total 1024 pins, finishing in 74th place
- Coming in 121st was Justin Perdue, who bowled games of 200-199-181-175-216
- Corey Goldsmith would earn a 291st place finish with three games bowled. He scored 216-223-199
As a team, Cleary finished in 34th place after knocking down a total of 7,705 pins.
In the Women's Tournament:
- Samantha Dulz was the high scorer for the Cougars, and bowled games of 193-180-178-183-252 to total 986 pins, and finished in 21st place
- Hailee Hale would finish in 28th place after bowling games of 159-201-164-202-241
- Taking 57th place was Olivia Solomon, who bowled games of 185-188-167-179-194
- Courtney Witten finished in 71st place after bowling games of 177-177-169-191-173
- In 109th was Amy Jackson, who bowled in four games, but had scores of 190-191-200-235
As a team, Cleary knocked down 7,473 pins, and finished in 11th place out of 38 teams
Both teams will enjoy the holiday break, and be back in action on Saturday, January 11, when they participate in the AHBA #5 jamboree.
