Cougars Drop Men's Lacrosse Game to Mount Vernon Nazarene

(Mount Vernon, OH)-- It was a difficult day for the Cleary Cougar men's lacrosse team, as they conluded their road trip with a 24-1 defeat to the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars on Wednesday.

MVNU would control the game from the opening face-off, as they scored seven times in the first and seven times in the second quarter to take a 14-0 hafltime lead.  Cleary would get on the board on the opening possession of the second half, as Zach Eakes scored, with an assist from Mike Smith.  Unfortunately, MVNU would prevent Cleary from making any comeback, and added to their lead in the second half to earn the victory.

Adam Roper suffered the defeat in goal to drop his record to 0-3.  He made 16 saves on the day.  

Cleary will next be in action on Saturday, March 12, when they host NCAA D3 Mount St. Joseph at Lake Trust Stadium.  The game is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM.
