Cleary Falls in WHAC Play to Concordia

(Ann Arbor, MI)-- The Cleary Cougars men's lacrosse team made the short trip to Ann Arbor this afternoon, but fell to the host Concordia Cardinals 27-4 in WHAC play.

After Concordia scored on their first possession, Cleary's Mike Smith got the Cougars on the board on the very next possession to tie the game.  That tie would be short lived, as the Cardinals went on to score the next twelve goals of the game to take a commanding lead into the start of the second quarter.  Cleary would score on their first possession of the second quarter, when Danny Pudduck found Paxton Cowan to score Cleary's second goal of the game.  One possession later, Danny Pudduck would score to cut the deficit to 13-3.  Concordia would score four more goals to take a 17-3 lead into halftime.  After being held scoreless in the third quarter, and for much of the fourth quarter, Hunter Bowerson scored his first career goal, assisted by Danny Pudduck to give Cleary their fourth and final goal of the game.

Adam Roper made a season high 23 saves in net while taking the loss.  Danny Pudduck had one goal and two assists to lead the Cougars, who drop to 0-7, 0-2 in WHAC-tion.  Cleary will make the trip to Southfield on Saturday, April 2, to take on the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils.  The game is scheduled to start at 2:00 PM.
