(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary University Cougars men's soccer team earned a draw late at Cleary's Homecoming to go unbeaten this week.
Both teams created chances throughout the game, but it would be the visiting UM-Dearborn Wolverines that found the back of the net first, as they scored in the 41st minute to take a 1-0 lead into the halftime break. With the Wolverines still holding on to a one goal advantage late in the game, Mekhi Harris threw the ball into the box towards teammate Dillon Croft, who was tripped up and fouled in the penalty area. Lesman Morazan stepped up and calmly scored the equalizing penalty kick to give the Cougars an important point, as the game would end in a 1-1 tie.
Vaios Papadoudis eared his fourth tie of the season, allowing 1 goal on 5 shots while making 4 saves. Lesman Morazan has now scored in three consecutive games.
Cleary is now 3-5-4 overall, and 1-2-2 in the WHAC. Cleary will be on the road on Wednesday, October 12, when they travel to Lima, Ohio to take on the UNOH Racers. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
