(Lima, OH)-- The Cleary Cougars men's soccer team faced their toughest opponent this season to date, and were unable to get much going, as the host UNOH Racers went on to win 7-0 Wednesday afternoon in Lima, Ohio.
After withstanding some early pressure, UNOH would draw a penalty at the corner of the penalty area on an apparent hand ball by the Cougars defense. The Racers would convert the penalty, and quickly added two more goals to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
The second half was much of the same, as the Racers continued to flex their muscles, adding four goals to go on to win 7-0.
Vaios Papadoudis suffered the loss in goal, allowing 3 goals while also making 3 saves. Austin Freemire got some action in the second half, and made 6 saves in the game. Cleary drops to 3-6-4 overall, 1-3-2 in the WHAC. The Cougars will travel to Southfield on Saturday to take on the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils in a WHAC matchup. Kickoff is set for 5:00 PM at Blue Devil Stadium.
