(Adrian, MI)-- The Cleary Cougars men's soccer team played their final game of 2022, as they took on the Siena Heights Saints in Adrian, Michigan Saturday afternoon.
The Saints would get on the board just past the halfway point of the first half, as they were able to slot the ball past goalie Austin Freemire to take a 1-0 lead. Though the Saints controlled the game and possession, the Cougar defense held strong and didn't allow another goal the rest of the half.
Unfortunately for the Cougars, the second half was much of the same in terms of possession and shot attempts, and Siena Heights broke through to ice the game late on a corner kick to secure the 2-0 victory
Austin Freemire suffered the loss in goal, as he allowed 2 goals while making 8 saves. Cleary was outshot 19-4 in the game, and the Saints also held a 7-3 advantage on corner kicks.
Cleary finishes the season 3-11-4, 1-8-2 in the WHAC.
