(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar Men's Soccer team played their last home non-conference game of the season today. They took on Great Lakes Christian College and had an offensive explosion winning 6-0.
The Cougars would get things going within the first few minutes of the game. A penalty kick would be awarded to the Cougars letting Lesman Morazan put it in the back of the net to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead at the 2:08 mark. Just over 11 minutes later at the 13:17 mark, Morazan would score his second goal of the game. The Cougars would keep the attack going just five minutes later as Santino Savastano-Farr found Adam Baldwin, making it a 3-0 game. Baldwin would later grab an assist as Dillon Croft scored at the 36:33 mark leaving the Cougars with a 4-0 lead after the first half.
In the second half, Simbarashe Mazarura would find the back of the net as the ball just crept over the goalie's glove. Great Lakes Christian College would settle down after that for a while, however, a limited roster proved to be tiring for them. The Cougars would add to their lead at the 86:38 mark with a goal by Noah Searl, assisted by Miguel Andriano Castillo.
Vaios Papadoudis started in goal for the Cougars playing all 90:00 minutes and receiving a clean sheet. The Cougars would outshoot Great Lakes Christian 38-1.
The Cougars picked up their 4th win on the season to improve to 4-1 overall. The Cougars will hit the field next Friday, September 13, 2024, as they travel to Adrian, Michigan to take on Adrian College. Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM.
