Throwers Excel for Indoor Track and Field at CMU Chippewa Invite

(Mt. Pleasant, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's indoor track & field teams were in Mt. Pleasant to compete in the Chippewa Invite on the campus of Central Michigan University.
In the Men's Meet:
- Rodrick Campbell finished in 10th place in the 60m with a time of 7.73. Nathan Vaske ran a 7.74, and Matthew Booth ran a 7.92 to finish in 11th and 12th
- Matthew Booth earned a 13th place finish in the 200m after running a 25.21, while Nathan Vaske ran a 26.29 to finish in 14th
- In the 400m, Preston Mackenzie ran a 57.46 to finish in 6th. Mason Wildie finished in 8th and ran a 1:00.55, while Logan Betke ran a 1:15.72
- In the 800m, Camden Staples ran a 2:15.40 to finish in 10th place. Ethan Lewis finished in 12th with a 2:24.41, while Devin Mackenzie finished in 17th, and Mason Wildie in 19th
- Donovan White would run a 4:47.40 in the 1 mile to finish in 11th. Joel Hartleb ran a 5:05.29 to finish in 12th
- Joel Hartleb ran a 10:16.76 in the 3000m to finish in 13th, while Hunter Anderson was a second behind with a 10:17.77 to finish in 14th
- In the shot put, Noah Simpson continued to throw well, with a 3rd place finish after throwing 12.86m. Derrick Murray finished in 12th
- In the long jump, Rodrick Campbell jumped 5.91m to finish in 3rd place
- Noah Simpson threw the weight throw 13.71m to earn a 3rd place finish, while Logan Rogers threw 12.61m to finish in 4th
In the Women's Meet:
- Rylie Bjorkman ran a 32.51 in the 200m to finish in 11th
- Earning a 9th place finish in the 400m was Kiera Smith, who ran a 1:22.27
- Rylie Bjorkman ran a 2:42.64 in the 800m to finish in 21st. Kiera Smith finished in 30th
- Lauren Gores earned a 3rd place finish in the 3000m after running a 11:07.92
- In the shot put, Carlee Beeney threw 8.80m to finish in 12th
- Carlee Beeney earned a 2nd place finish in the weight throw after throwing 14.17m, while Amelia Jason finished in 12th
Both teams will be back in action next weekend when they compete in the WHAC's Indoor Track & Field Championships.
