Cougars Set the Bar for 2022 Indoor Track & Field Season at SVSU

(University Center, MI)-- The Cleary Cougars Indoor Track & Field team opened up their 2022 campaign when they competed in the SVSU Invitational, hosted at Saginaw Valley State University this past Friday.
Women's Highlights:
- Jillian Clark finished 15th in the women's 800 M with a time of 2:40:00 in the seeding, and then ran a 3:01.13 in the finals.
- K'Neil Dawkins finished in 38th place in the women's 200 M with a time of 28.00 seconds, just 3 seconds off the pace. In the finals, Dawkins would run a 29.84.
Men's Highlights:
- Three Cougars competed in the men's 800 M run, with Camden Staples finishing in 11th place with a time of 2:05:00, Stephen Bisard finished in 18th with a time of 2:14:00, and Alex Misniakiewicz finished in 19th with a time of 2:09:00 in the seeding run. Staples would run a 2:07.46 in the finals, with Bisard, runninga 2:19.63, and Misniakiewicz running a 2:22.11 in the finals.
- In the men's 200 M, Matthew Booth ran a 25.00 in the seeding, while Isaac McComb ran a 25.00, and Cole Tappan ran a 29.00. In the finals, Booth ran a 24.50 to finish in 26th place, while McComb ran a 26.03 to finish in 31st, and Tappan rana 28.78 to finish in 32nd.
- Isaac McComb threw the shot put 12.80 M to qualify for the finals, where he threw a distance of 11.93 to finish in 21st.

The event featured teams from NCAA Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, and NAIA institutions.

The Cougars will travel to Grand Rapids on Friday, January 21, when they compete in the John Flminio Classic hosted by Aquinas College.
