Cougars Place at WHAC Championships; Postseason Awards Announced
(Ann Arbor, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's track & field teams competed in the WHAC Championships this past Thursday and Friday at Concordia University Ann Arbor.
In the Men's Meet:
- The 4 x 800 M relay team of Donovan White, Alex Misniakiewicz, Steven Bisard, and Victor Davis finished in 9th, with a time of 8:54.27
- Ethan Beres finished in 8th in the 10,000 M, with a time of 33:30.55, while teammate Joel Hartleb finished in 14th with a time of 37:16.53
- Donovan White finished in 3rd, and earned Honorable Mention All Conference, in the 3,000 M Steeplechase, with a time of 10:03.87
- The 4 x 100 M relay team of Victor Davis, Isaac McComb, Matt Booth, and Nick Floyd finished in 9th, with a time of 47.66
- Ethan Beres ran a 16:13.58 to finish in 15th in the 5,000 M, and teammate Joel Hartleb ran a 18:20.34 to finish in 31st
- The 4 x 400 M relay team of Matt Booth, Alex Misniakiewicz, Steven Bisard, and Donovan White, ran a 3:38.15 to finish in 7th
- Nick Floyd cleared 1.90 M in the high jump to finish in 3rd place and earn Honorable Mention All Conference
- Isaac McComb threw the shot put 12.22 M to finish in 13th
- Nick Floyd threw the javelin 49.58 M to finish in 3rd and earned Honorable Mention All Conference. Teammates Isaac McComb and Matt Booth threw 41.35 M and 34.40 M respectively
- Isaac McComb threw the discus 28.82 M to finish in 19th
In the Women's Meet:
- Lauren Gores finished in 4th in the 10,000 M, with a time of 40:22.91
- Jillian Clark finished in 4th in the 3,000 M Steeplechase, with a time of 15:58.51
- Lauren Gores ran a 19:21.06 in the 5,000 M to finish in 4th
- Mikaela Casey threw 10.04 M in the shot put to finish in 14th
- Mikaela Casey threw the discus 29.21 M to finish in 13th
As a team, the Cleary men finished with 21 points and finished in 6th place, while the Cleary women finished with 15 points and finished in 10th.
Also awarded at the meet were the Academic All Conference and Champions of Character awards. Members of the All-Academic Team must be a junior or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA, while those on the Champions of Character Team best represent the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. Representing the Cougars on the All-Academic Team were Abby McClelland and Mallory Tognetti. Being recognized as Cleary's recipients of the Champions of Character award were Mikaela Casey and Matt Booth.
