Gores Highlights Indoor Track & Field's Day at WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge

(Grand Rapids, MI)-- The Cleary Cougars men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed in the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge, hosted by Aquinas College on Friday.
In the Men's Meet:
- Niguel-Ali Curney ran a 7.39 in the 60 m preliminary race
- Curney also ran in the 200 m, submitting a time of 24.55 to finish in 14th. Teammate Matt Booth finished in 21st after running a 25.38
- In the 1 mile race, Joel Hartleb ran a 5:04.89 to finish in 19th. Logan Betke finished in 22nd after running a 6:22.61
- In the 3000 m race, Anthony White finished in 5th to earn 4 points for Cleary, and ran a 9:36.92. Teammate Ethan Beres finished in 7th after running a 9:39.94, and earned 2 points
As a team, Cleary earned 6 points, and finished in 10th place overall.
In the Women's Meet:
- Lauren Gores earned 6 points in the 3000 m race as she ran an 11:18.84 to finish in 3rd place
- Mikaela Casey threw in both the shot put and the weight throw. In the shot put, she threw 10.53 m and finished in 17th, and she threw 9.24 m in the weight throw to finish in 30th.
As a team, Cleary earned 6 points and finished in 10th place.
Both the men's and women's indoor track and field teams will be back in action this Saturday, February 18, when they compete in the WHAC Championships hosted by Indiana Tech.
