Track & Field Takes Strides at CUAA Legacy Invite

(Ann Arbor, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar track & field team continues to show improvement this season, and their growth was evident at the Concordia Legacy Invitational last Friday and Saturday.
In the Men's Meet:
- Niguel-Ali Curney took 6th in the 100 M with a time of 11.44.
- Curney would take 7th in the 200 M with a time of 23.27, while teammate Tayshaun Lindsey finished in 15th with a time of 27.41
- In the 400 M, Christian Hammond ran a 54.34 to finish in 9th place
- Anthony White ran a 2:04.26 in the 800 M to finish in 8th, while Camden Staples finished in 10th with a time of 2:09.64
- Logan Betke ran a 5:27.93 in the 1500 M to finish in 25th
- Ethan Beres took 3rd in the 5000 M after running a 16:39.37, while Joel Hartleb finished in 5th with a 17:34.05
- In the 4 x 400 M relay, Matt Booth, Camden Staples, Christian Hammond, and Anthony White combined to run a 3:43.05 to finish in 4th
- The 4 x 800 M relay team of Anthony White, Camden Staples, Joel Hartleb, and Ethan Beres took 2nd after running an 8:42.92
As a team, the Cougars finished in 6th place with a total of 39 points
In the Women's Meet:
- Osheiauna Phifer took 9th in the 200 M with a time of 30.20. She would also take 13th in the 400 M with a time of 1:13.34
- Jillian Clark ran a 6:39.88 in the 1500 M to finish in 13th
- Lauren Gores won the 5000 M with a time of 19:15.81
- In the shot put, Mikaela Casey threw 9.81 M to finish in 12th. Casey also threw the discus with a distance of 22.01 M to take 12th place
- Amelia Jason finished in 10th in the discus with a throw of 26.27 M, and she took 12th in the javelin with a throw of 21.22 M.
As a team, Cleary finished in 9th place with a total of 14 points
The track & field teams will be back at it this Thursday and Friday when they run at the WHAC Championships at Siena Heights University.
