Track & Field Runs at the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge in Grand Rapids

(Grand Rapids, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar indoor track & field team competed in the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge hosted by Aquinas College in Grand Rapids Friday evening.
In the Men's Meet:
- Christian Hammond finished in 33rd in the 60m with a time of 7.68. He would run a 24.78 and set a personal record in the 200m
- Devin Mackenzie finished in 13th in the 600m with a 1:57.52, a personal record
- In the 800m, Donovan White finished in 12th with a 2:02.76, while Camden Staples finished in 15th with a 2:04.52, and Brayden McKay finished in 21st with a 2:12.36, all personal records.
- Alex Misniakiewicz ran a 2:57.59 in the 1000m to finish in 4th, also setting a personal record
- Ethan Beres would finish in 17th in the mile run with a 4:50.96 time. Beres would also finish in 10th in the 3000m with a 9:44.25.
- The 4x400m relay team of Camden Staples, Brayden McKay, Donovan White, and Christian Hammond ran a 3:43.07 to finish in 6th
- Jerome Ellis would throw the shot put 11.21m to finish in 16. Logan Rogers finished in 21st and Jacob Haley in 22nd
- Rogers would finishin in 18th in the weight throw, while Haley and Ellis finished in 19th and 20th respectively.
As a team, Cleary finished in 8th place.
In the Women's Meet:
- Kaylie Bash would set a personal record in the 200m with a time of 28.67 and finished in 17th
- Bash would also set a personal record in the 400m, with a time of 1:11.44, and finished in 17th
- Jillian Clark finished in 26th in the mile run, with a time of 6:54.55
- Lauren Gores earned a 2nd place finish in the 3000m after running a 11:02.62
- Kayle Bash would finish in 8th in the 60m hurdles after running a 10.19
As a team, Cleary finished in 7th place.
Both teams will be back in Grand Rapids next Friday and Saturday, when they run in the WHAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
