Women Take Fifth; Men Ninth, at Don Kleinow Memorial Invitational
(Adrian, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar track & field teams were in Adrian to run in the Don Kleinow Memorial Invitational hosted by Siena Heights University.
In the Men's Meet:
- Camden Staples earned a ninth place finish in the 800M with a time of 2:05.67
- In the 1500M, Alex Misniakiewicz finished in fourteenth after running a 4:44.09, while Logan Betke ran a 5:14.05 to finish in twentysecond
- Ethan Beres ran a 16:13.63 in the 5000M to finish in sixth place
- Logan Rogers and Hunter Blackhurst took eleventh and thirteenth in the shot put, after throwing 10.20M and 7.94M respectively
- Jacob Haley and Jerome Ellis finished in ninth and tenth in the discus, after throwing 32.88M and 32.62M
- Jacob Haley earned a sixth place finish in the javelin after throwing 35.31M
- Jerome Ellis and Jacob Haley would also take eighth and ninth in the hammer throw, with throws of 34.64M and 34.42M. Logan Rogers and Hunter Blackhurst earned eleventh and twelth place finishes
As a team, Cleary earned 6 points and finished in a tie for ninth place overall
In the Women's Meet:
- Jillian Clark earned a fourteenth place finish in the 800M after running a 3:01.79
- Lauren Gores set a new personal record and won the 5000M with a time of 18:26.33
- Lily Daugard was unattached, and therefore couldn't earn team points, but took second in the shot put with a 12.92 throw
- Carlee Beeney won the discus with a throw of 36.00
- Amelia Jason earned a tenth place finish in the javelin with a throw of 20.41
- Carlee Beeney finished in ninth in the hammer with a throw of 31.67M
As a team, the Cleary earned 21 points to finish in 5th place out of 11 teams. The fifth place finish was the highest finish in program history.
The Cougars will be back in action next Friday and Saturday, when they travel to Ann Arbor to run in the CUAA Legacy Invitational hosted at Concordia University.
