Track & Field Provides Strong Performances at WHAC Championships

(Fort Wayne, IN)-- The Cleary Cougar track & field team ran in the WHAC Championships this past Thursday and Friday at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
In the Men's Meet:
- The 4 x 800 M relay team of Camden Staples, Ethan Beres, Brayden McKay, and Donovan White set a new school record with a time of 8:33.71 and finished in 9th place
- Jerome Ellis finished in 14th in the hammer throw, with a distance of 37.26M. Logan Rogers finished in 17th with a 35.78M throw
- In the javelin, Jacob Haley finished in 22nd with a throw of 31.54M
- In the 1500M, Alex Misniakiewicz ran a 4:30.43 to finish in 23rd. Devin Mackenzie ran a 5:09.05 to finish in 31st. Logan Betke finished in 32nd with a 5:09.51
- Donovan White ran a 2:01.06 in the 800M to finish in 19th. Camden Staples ran a 2:03.61 and finished in 24th. Brayden McKay finished in 40th, while Logn Betke and Devin Mackenzie finished in 51st and 52nd respectively
- In the 5000M, Ethan Beres ran a 16:32.25 to finish in 20th
- Jerome Ellis threw the discus 35.06M and finished in 15th. Logan Rogers threw the discus 31.32M to finish in 19th, and Jacob Haley finished in 21st with a threwo of 30.26M
- Logan Rogers would earn a 25th place finish in the shot put, with a throw of 10.18M
As a team, Cleary did not earn any team points.
In the Women's Meet:
- Carlee Beeney earned a 21st place finish in the hammer throw, with a distance of 33.97M
- Amelia Jason finished in 13th in the javelin, with a throw of 21.58M
- Jillian Clark ran a 2:58.26 in the 800M and finished in 28th
- Lauren Gores earned 4 team points in the 5000M with a fifth place finish and a time of 18:56.54
- Carlee Beeney earned 3 team poins in the shot put with a throw of 11.44M, finishing in 6th place
- Carlee Beeney would also finish in 3rd place in the discus with a throw of 40.85M, earning 6 team points
As a team, Cleary earned 13 team points and finished in 9th place. It was the highest finish in school history, and the most points earned in school history.
