Wrestling Suffers Loss to Cornerstone to Open WHAC Play

(Grand Rapids, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar wrestling team opened WHAC play with a dual meet against the #20 ranked Cornerstone Golden Eagles Friday evening in Grand Rapids.
- Luke Connick dropped his 133 lb. match by a 15-0 technical fall to Devan Johnson
- Preston Auld would drop his 141 lb. match to Ian Boden by a 19-4 technical fall
- In the 149 lb. match, Louden Stradling picked up his 9th win of the season, earning a 14-4 major decision victory over Luke Jaworski, earning Cleary 4 team points
- In the 157 lb. class, Ryan Weaver was pinned in 2:27 to Thade Radosa
- Ty Johnson would get pinned in the 165 lb. class to Cooper Mansfield
- Jacob Gonzales would drop a 12-6 decision to Joseph Lashuay in the 174 lb. class
- Lenton Patrick lost a 6-4 decision to Brady Heckathorn in the 184 lb. class
- Tunde Oroye would drop an 8-2 decision in the 197 lb. class
- In the 285/Heavyweight class, Eathan Westfall earned a 2-0 decision victory over Stephos Georgiou, to earn 3 team points
Cleary would drop the match 37-7. The Cougars will be back in action in their home opener, as they welcome the nationally ranked Indiana Tech Warriors for a WHAC dual. The match will be on Saturday, December 14 at 1:00 PM at Parker Middle School in Howell.
