Wrestling Drops Dual to Indiana Tech

(Howell, MI)-- The nationally ranked Indiana Tech Warriors made the trip to Howell Saturday afternoon to take on the Cleary Cougar wrestling team, as the Warriors would earn the WHAC dual victory at Highlander Way Middle School.
- In 133 lb., Luke Connick would get pinned in 4:09 to Luke Rioux
- Preston Auld would suffer a major decision defeat to Diego Nava by a 9-1 score in 141 lb.
- Tech's Mike Loney would earn a pin victory over Josh Howard in 1:09 in 149 lb.
- Ty Johnson had a strong first period, but was pinned by Elijah Chacon in 3:59 in 157 lb.
- Jacob Gonzales also had a strong first period, but would be pinned by Jonathan Kervin in 165 lb.
- Alex Nouhan would suffer a 19-2 technical fall in 174 to Drake Egan
- In the best match of the day, Cleary's Lenton Patrick suffered a 6-4 decision defeat to Tech's Trevor Stuyvenberg
- Cleary did not enter wrestlers in 125 lb, 197 lb, and 285 lb. divisions
Cleary lost the match 54-0. The Cougars will return to action one last time before the holiday break, when they participate in the UC NAIA Invite at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky next Saturday, December 20.
