Cleary Men Win; Tognetti 1st at Concordia Invite
(Ann Arbor, MI)-- The Cleary University men's and women's cross country teams have a lot to be happy about, as they each had very strong showings at the Concordia Invite in Ann Arbor Saturday afternoon.
In the men's race, Cleary placed 3 runners in the top 6, and one more in the top 12, on route to a dominant team victory in the race. Anthony White finished 2nd overall with a time of 16:58.2, while teammate Ethan Beres was right behind with a time of 17:00.6 to finish 3rd. Wyatt Emmons finished 6th overall with a time of 17:25.7, and Camden Staples finished 12th with a time of 18:27.2. All 7 Cleary runners finished in the top 18, while the team earned 38 points to defeat Siena Heights by 6 points on the day.
In the women's race, Mallory Tognetti continued her strong season, by winning the women's race with a time of 20:21.4. Teammate Lauren Gores also had a great race, finishing 4th with a time of 21:19.0. Cleary would finish in a tie for 3rd with host Concordia on points with 68 total points on the day.
Cleary's cross country teams will both be in action next Saturday, when they run in the Raider-Knight XC Invite.
