Cougar Cross Country Opens 2022 at CMU

(Shepherd, MI)— The Cleary Cougar Cross Country teams opened up their 2022 season at the Jeff Drenth Memorial Race hosted by Central Michigan University on Friday at Shepherd High School.
In the women's race:
- Lauren Gores ran for the Lady Cougars finishing the race in 53rd place out of 78 runners. Gores' 5k time was 21. As Gores was the only Cleary runner in the women's race, the Cougars did not earn a team score.
In the men's race:
- Leading the men's team with a time of 17:07.5 was Donovan White finishing in 45th place.
- Close behind White was Ethan Beres with a 47th place finish and a time of 17:08.7.
- Camden Staples finished in 56th place, and Joel Hartleb finished in 59th place with times of 17:59.4 and 18:05.6, respectively.
- Following Hartleb was Stephen Bisard with a time of 20:06.2 and a 68th place finish. Alex Misniakiewicz and Logan Betke finished back to back with Misniakiewicz's time at 22:05.5 and Betke's time at 23:03.0.
The men's team finished 7th overall with 202 points.
