Cross Country Continues Season at Calvin Knight Invite
(Grand Rapids, MI)— The Cleary Cougar men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Calvin Knight Invite last Saturday, which featured schools from NCAA Division II and III, NJCAA, and NAIA. The women’s team ran a 5k and the men’s team ran an 8k.
In the women's race:
- Lauren Gores ran for the Lady Cougars finishing with a time of 25:25. Gores was the only runner for the Lady Cougars, resulting in no team score for the women’s team.
In the men's race:
- Leading the men's team with a time of 27:41 was Ethan Beres finishing 29th overall.
- Following Beres was Donovan White with a 63rd place finish and a time of 28:28.
- Camden Staples finished in 49th place, and Joel Hartleb finished in 56th place with times of 29:55 and 30:44, respectively.
- Coming in after Hartleb was Alex Misniakiewicz with a time of 34:22 and a 65th place finish.
- Stephen Bisard and Logan Betke finished back to back with Bisards’s time at 36:09 and Betke's time at 37:52.
The men's team finished 9th overall with a team score of 233 and a team time of 2:31:12.
Up Next: The cross country teams will travel south on US-23 to compete in the Lourdes Invite next Friday, September 16th in Sylvania, Ohio, with the women running at 3:30 PM, and the men running at 4:15 PM.
