Cross Country Wraps Up Regular Season at WHAC Championships; Awards Announced
(Grand Rapids, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's cross country team ran in the WHAC Championships Friday afternoon in Grand Rapids.
In the Men's Race:
- Donovan White led the Cougars with a time of 27:13.8, finishing in 38th place
- Ethan Beres finished in 54th with a time of 28:09.4
- Joel Hartleb ran a 29:16.8 to finish in 87th, and Camden Staples finished in 98th with a time of 29:55.1
- Alex Misniakiewicz and Logan Betke rounded out the Cleary runners, with times of 30:48.0 and 33:04.6, respectively
As a team, Cleary finsihed in 11th place.
Joel Hartleb was also recognized as Cleary's representative to the Champions of Character team and was named to the All-Academic team for maintaining a GPA over a 3.25. Camden Staples was also named to the All-Academic team.
In the Women's Race:
- Lauren Gores placed 13th with a time of 24:03.4, which was good enough to earn her Second Team All Conference. Gores will have to wait until Tuesday to find out if she qualifies for the national championship meet.
Jillian Clark was named as Cleary's representative to the Champions of Character team, while Lauren Gores earned herself a spot on the All-Academic team.
