(Cocoa, FL)—The Cougar softball team travelled down to Florida to compete in the Space Coast Games. Today was day one of their trip and they faced Keiser University and Florida National University.
In Game 1 vs. Keiser: The Cougars fell short early on during the game against the Seahawks this morning. Cleary's run was scored by Mia Rzepka, with the RBI credited to Maddie Campbell for reaching first on an error.
Despite the early score, the Cougars would fall to Keiser 9-1. Sonya Terleckyj took the loss. Mia Rzepka went 2-for-2 to lead the Cougars offense. Mckenzie Latshaw, Kate Currie, and Jenna Wagenschutz also added one hit each for the Cougars.
In Game 2 vs. Florida National: The Cougars were shut out by Florida National in the second game this afternoon. The final score of the game was 13-0. Caitlynn Duffey will record the loss for the Cougars against FNU. Adding a bright spot for Cleary was Courtney Ture, Sarah Cassidy, and Madi Best, all collecting one hit.
Tomorrow, the Cougars will play two games again, with the first at 9:00am and then the second at 2:00pm at the Launch Pad Sports Complex in Cocoa, Florida.
