Team Stats
Indiana Tech
(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougars softball team opened up WHAC play with a double-header vs. the Indiana Tech Warriors Sunday afternoon at Lake Trust Stadium.
In Game 1: Sonya Terleckyj threw a complete game, and only allowed 7 hits, but two Warrior singles were the difference as Indiana Tech went on to win 2-0. Terleckyj struck out 8, only walked 2, and allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while taking the loss. Cleary's bats were held in check, as the team could only muster 4 hits. McKenzie Latsawh went 2/3 at the plate, while Maddie Campbell and Gabby Monreal added one hit apiece.
In Game 2: Game 2 was all Indiana Tech, as the Warriors scored the game's first 6 runs. Cleary did get on the board when Jenna Wagenschutz singled home Maddie Campbell to cut into the Warrior lead. The Warriors would go on to add four insurance runs in the 7th, to go onto win 10-1. Halle Darge took the loss, allowing 6 runs (5 earned) on 6 hits. Grace Pasterik and Gabby Monreal each had two hits for the Cougars.
Cleary drops to 6-17, 0-2 in the WHAC. The Cougars will next be in action on Tuesday, March 28, when they travel to Grand Rapids to take on Cornerstone in a make-up double header. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
