(Beverly Hills, MI)—The Cougars were on the road this afternoon to compete against the Blue Devils of Lawrence Tech. The Cougars dropped both games to the Blue Devils making their conference record 0-6.
Game 1 Recap: Cleary fell short of the Blue Devils in a 2-1 defensive game. Sonya Terleckyj threw a complete game and took the loss for the Cougars allowing LTU one earned run.
The Cougars collected 4 hits with one each for Gabby Monreal, Izzy Easton, Maddie Bunkoske, and Ginelle Leslie. Easton was also responsible for the run scored by the Cougars.
Game 2 Recap: The Cougars went on to also drop game two in another close contest to LTU with the final score being 3-2. Caitlynn Duffey pitched all 7 innings for the Cougars defense and took the loss against the Blue Devils.
The Cougars improved their offense in game two and doubled their hits from the previous game. A highlight in Cleary's offense was from Ashleigh Tatara who went 3-for-3 at the plate. Monreal and Easton are credited with both runs scored for the Cougars.
The Cougars will be back in action this Wednesday, the 5th, and traveling to Ohio for a doubleheader against the University of Northwestern Ohio. Game times for this matchup are set for 2:30 and 4:30pm.
