Softball Picked to Finish Eighth in WHAC Preseason Coaches Poll
(Howell, MI)-- The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has released it's 2025 Softball preseason coaches poll, and Cleary has been picked to finish in 8th place.
The defending regular season and WHAC tournament champion Madonna Crusaders were picked to win the conference, receiving 12 out of a possible 13 first place votes. UNOH received 1 first place vote and was picked to finish in second place. Aquinas, Indiana Tech, and Concordia round out the top-five.
Cleary went 14-27 last season, and 8-14 within the WHAC. The Cougars qualified for the WHAC tournament as the 8-seed, and lost to #1 seed Madonna, then beat #5-seed Indiana Tech 10-8, before losing in extra innings to #2-seed UNOH.
Cleary will open up the 2025 season with six games at the Ice-Burg Classic on the campus of the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky over Valentine's Day weekend. After twelve games in Florida over spring break, Cleary will play their home and WHAC opener on Saturday, March 22, when they take on the Aquinas Saints at Lake Trust Stadium.
