(Mount Vernon, OH)-- The Cleary Cougar women's basketball team took on the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon in Ohio.
MVNU would hold Cleary to 28 points in the first half, and tooka 17 point lead into halftime. Cleary would cut the lead to single-digits, but the host Cougars pulled away, and left no doubt in the fourth and final quarter, winning the game 81-54.
Taedom Stein led the Cleary attack with a game high 16 points and 8 rebounds. Both Amy Jackson and Riley Merryfield added 11 points, with Merryfield also chipping in 6 assists. Mileisha Rodriguez added 8 points and a game high 9 rebounds in the game.
Cleary drops to 0-3 on the season, and will next be in action on Friday, November 17, when they travel to Rochester, Michigan to take on the NCAA D1 Oakland University Golden Grizzlies in an exhibition matchup. Tipoff is set for 7:00 PM ET.
