Stein, Hoelscher, and Mondro Recognized by WHAC in Women's Basketball Postseason Awards
(Howell, MI)-- The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced it's 2025 season awards, and multiple women's basketball players have been regognized.
Taedom Stein was named Second-Team All-WHAC. Stein, a senior from St. Clair Shores, was one of the more versatile players in the conference, and averaged 11.5 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game, and 4.6 assists per game. The 11.5 points per game ranked 18th in the WHAC, while her 4.6 assists per game led the conference, and her 6.2 rebounds per game ranked 15th. She will end her career as Cleary's ranked first all-time at Cleary in points, assists, and total rebounds.
Samantha Hoelscher was also named Second-Team All-WHAC, joining Stein as the first members of the All-WHAC team in just the program's second season. Hoelscher, a junior from Maria Stein, Ohio, led the Cougars with 13.2 points per game. She set the program's single-game scoring record earlier this season on November 29 when she scored 29 points against Lawrence Tech. She also grabbed 4.7 rebounds per game, while also earning 2.17 steals per game
Head Coach Kevin Mondro was also recognized, and for the second consecutive season, was named the WHAC Women's Basketball Champion of Character Coach, as voted on by his peers, for best representing the five core character values of the NAIA.
Named to the Champions of Character team as the Cougars' representative was Taedom Stein, for best best representing the five core character values of the NAIA.
Finally, eight members of the team were named to the All-Academic Team. To be honored, student-athletes must have had at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and have attended Cleary for at least one full year. They were (in alphabetical order):
