Women's Golf Continues Success with 2nd Place Finish at WHAC Fall Preview
(Augusta, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar Women's Golf team got to see their first look at the entire WHAC Conference the past two days at the WHAC Fall Preview. They would play three rounds over the two days finishing with a team score of +116. The Cougars would finish in 2nd place as a team falling behind to Larence Tech University who finished with a team score of +71.

Jana L'Esperace would lead the Cougars as she finished round scores of +6, +5, and +7 for a total of +18 to claim 4th place overall.

Jessica Shay would take home 10th place overall with round scores of +7, +11, and +11.

Alexis Sharplin would shoot +7, +13, +13 to finish 14th overall.

Madeline Swett finished 27th overall finishing with a total score of +43 over the three rounds

Lauryn Jerke finished with round scores of +9, +20, and +20 for a total of +49 to take home 35th place overall.

Maryann Montgomery who was entered as an individual for this tournament finished all three rounds with a score of +71 to claim 47th place overall.
The 2nd place finish and stroke score of 980 are the best the Cougars have ever finished in this event, regardless of whether it is the preview or WHAC Championships hosted in the spring. They look to continue their success this Friday, September 27, 2024, as they take on the Lawrence Tech Invitational. It will occur at Farmington Hills Golf Course in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Tee time is set for 9:00 AM.
