(Sylvania, OH)-- The Cleary Cougar women's soccer team went to Ohio, but were unable to bring back a victory, as they fell to host Lourdes University Gray Wolves.
Lourdes jumped all over the Cougars, scoring in the 3rd minute, and then added two more goals in the 27th and 31st minutes to take a commanding 3-0 lead into the halftime break. A Cleary own goal in the second half made the score 4-0, and the hosts held on to win by that score.
Tara McGrath suffered the loss in goal, as she allowed 3 goals while also making 5 saves in 45 minutes of play. Juliana Caro allowed 1 goal in the second half, and didn't have to make any saves in the game. Lourdes outshot the Cougars 16-4, while Cleary held the saves advantage at 5-3.
Cleary drops to 3-11-0, 1-9 in the WHAC. The Cougars will finish the season on Saturday with a WHAC matchup at Siena Heights. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
