Women's Soccer to Host Mental Health Awareness Game
(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar women's soccer team will be playing a Mental Health Awareness Game.
Working with The Hidden Opponent, the team hopes to bring light that college athletes battle depression and anxiety. The Cougars will wear special green uniforms for the game.
Chelsea Hendra is The Hidden Opponent's Campus Captain, and worked very hard to make this game a reality. She says, "Mental health is real, and I am incredibly passionate about defeating the stigma around it, specifically within sports. There are too many struggling and not enough seeking help. I'm excited and honoured to begin my role as Campus Captain, learn how to take better care of mental health, and see the conversations that we can start at Cleary."
Fans attending the game on Saturday are encouraged to wear green. The Cougars will be taking on the Aquinas College Saints at Lake Trust Stadium, with kick-off set for 4:00 PM.
