(Washington, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar women's soccer team hit the road to open up WHAC play, and faced a difficult opponent in the Rochester Warriors Saturday evening.
Rochester would score the game's only goal in the 16th minute of action, and held the Cougar offense in check to take the game by a 1-0 scoreline.
Tara McGrath played stellar in goal, making 10 saves on 11 shots. Cleary was outshot in the game 27-4 (10-4 shots on goal). Rochester held a 6-4 advantage on corner kicks, while Cleary committed 18 fouls to Rochester's 14.
Cleary is now 2-6 overall, 0-1 in the WHAC. The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday, September 27, when they travel to Madonna to take on the Crusaders in a WHAC matchup. Kickoff is set for 2:00 PM.
