(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar women's soccer team welcomed the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils to Lake Trust Stadium for Homecoming Saturday night.
The Blue Devils would score twice in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. They would then add another pair of goals in the second half to take a 4-0 lead. The Cougars would keep pushing forward, and earned a goal, as Ambre Canado sent a beautiful through ball to Mikaela Calvimontes, who chipped the goalie in the 90th minute to score her first career goal.
Tara McGrath made 9 saves in the game, as she took the loss. Cleary was outshot 23-10 (13-8 on goal). LTU held the advantage on corner kicks (3-1), and fouls (18-14) in the game.
Cleary drops to 2-12 overall, 0-7 in the WHAC. The Cougars will be back at Lake Trust Stadium on Wednesday, October 18, when they welcome the Indiana Tech Warriors for a WHAC matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
