Cleary Runners Shine at NAIA National Championships

(Gulf Shores, AL)-- The Cleary Cougars track & field teams sent two runners to the NAIA National Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and both excelled in the half-marathon race on Friday morning.

Mallory Tognetti would run her half-marathon in 1:30:29.02 to finish in 10th place.  She was just two minutes shy of earning All-America honors, as that award is given to the top 8 finishers.  

Ethan Beres finished in 34th place in the men's half-marathon, with a time of 1:17:00.24.

The event was originally supposed to be a full marathon, but due to the heat and humidity, it was changed to a half-marathon.
