Cougar XC Runs in NAIA Great Lakes Challenge
(Grand Rapids, MI)-- The area's largest collegiate cross country race saw almost 1,200 total runners between the men's and women's races. Cleary had some strong individual performances to help pace the team into the final standings.
In the women's race: Mallory Tognetti led the Cougars with a 5K time of 19:08.70 to finish in 5th place. Lauren Gores ran a 20:27.80 to finish in 58th place and second on the team. Chloe O'Boyle ran a23:50.00 to finishin 157th place, and teammates Jillian Clark and Georgia Price were right behind with times of 24:09.10 and 24:41.30 respecitvely. As a team, Cleary finished in 21st place.
In the men's race: Ethan Beres was the fastest Cougar with an 8K time of 26:50.90 to finish in 17th place. Teammates Donovan White who finished in 22nd place, and Wyatt Emmons who finished in 63rd, were closely behind with times of 27:08.30 and 27:43.50 respectively. Camden Staples ran a 29:02.20, and Joel Hartleb ran a 30:24.90 to help Cleary finish in 17th place on the day.
The Cougars will finish their cross country season on Saturday, November 6, when they run in the WHAC Conference Championships.
