Bio
Trevor Spagnoletti enters his fifth season as head coach of the men's golf program at Cleary University.
After Spagnoletti finished his playing career as a Cougar, he jumped straight into the head coach role knowing what he wants to do with the program and where he wants to take the program. While still playing, Spagnoletti served two years at Howell High School as the head coach of the girl's junior varsity program. Additionally, Spagnoletti has served as a member at Oak Pointe Country Club for several years now acquiring valuable connections for his Digital marketing business.
As a Cougar athlete, Spagnoletti was part of the growth of the program and was a valuable member of the team's rise to the 2016 USCAA National Championship. He was named the program's Most Valuable Player his junior season while he garnered two awards his senior season: 1st Team USCAA All-American and 2nd Team NAIA All-American. He continues his playing career in GAM events throughout the year including the Michigan Amateur, GAM Championship, and Michigan Open.
As he assumes control over the program, Spagnoletti has a vision for how he can further advance the program now that Cleary is a full-member of the NAIA and the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.
"I'll be establishing dedicated, regimented practices and will be measuring our successes statistically with a focus on improving skills," he said. "I believe strongly in the mental game as well, as the next shot is the most important shot. We have to have a positive outlook to the game and play with character and integrity which has been the fundamentals of this game for so long."
"I want this team to advance out of the regionals each year and make this a national power"
