Bio

Christian Mercure was announced as the second ever Cleary women's golf head coach on Thursday, May 23, 2024.  

A native of Trenton, Michigan, Mercure was a standout golfer in high school, making it to the MHSAA finals twice, in 2013 and 2015.  He was team captain his senior year of high school.  He chose to pursue baseball post-high school, which led him to Schoolcraft College, and then Grand Valley State University, where he was a pitcher.  At GVSU, he went 3-5 in 13 appearances with a 6.52 ERA over 48.1 innings pitched.

Mercure spent three seasons as an assistant for the Cougar baseball program from 2021-2023, with one season as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator, and two seasons as a graduate assistant.  Mercure was also named the resident life coordinator for Cleary University housing in 2023.  

Mercure earned an undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University in secondary education, and graduated with a Master's in business leadership from Cleary University in the spring 2023.  He currently lives in Howell.
